Sea girls

What a way to end their UK tour, in the City which is name dropped in one of their most popular songs, after such a long wait!

Well anyone in Manchester, who came to their show was treated to one of the hottest shows that this City has seen for a long while as London four piece, Sea Girls, signed off their COVID-Delayed UK tour with a bang!

The atmosphere inside a sold out Manchester Academy had a clear end-of-tour part feel to it, and was made even more evident as the lads made an impromptu appearance towards the end of Coach Party’s supporting performance, bursting on stage – setting of confetti canons and dancing around Coach Party as they played out the rest of their set!

Sea Girls opened up their set with Call Me Out, Violet, and Closer, and from this point onwards, they were unrelenting and had already set the tone for the rest of the evening!

Frontman Henry Camamile delivered a poignant message curtly exclaiming “Don’t f*** with girls” as a timely message of support in the wake of the recent spate of nightclub spikings, and just like when Coach Party relayed a similar message, the sold-out venue roared back loudly in full support of the point being made!

Camamile and the rest of the band rattled through fan favourite after fan favourite, and it was clear this night was going to be one of high energy! Rory Young on Lead Guitar was as lively as ever with his confident and uniquely animated style with hair flicks and jumps aplenty! Supported by drummer Oli Khan, and Bassist Andrew Dawson, every song resulted in multiple pits opening up throughout the crowd, who were determined to make this evening a sweaty one, and one for the band to remember!

The band interspersed their longstanding and popular hits with new songs Hometown, and Lonely from their upcoming new Album. A welcome and emphatically received surprise for the night was a cover of Oasis’ Stop Crying Your Heart Out, with every member of the audience passionately belting out every word just as if it was the Manchester Icons on stage!

Popular hits Do You Really Wanna Know?, Damage Done, and All I want to Hear You Say closed out the show with the band leaving the stage to a cacophony of chants of “one more song”.

They eventually returned to the stage, and delighted the sell-out crowd with an acoustic rendition of You Over Anyone, before finally ending the show with their 2021 hit single Sick.

New album Homesick is due for release on 14th January 2022, and we here at Moshmag can’t wait to see where the band will pop up next, as they are surely destined for bigger and better things!
